Tabs for Wheelchairs Program

‘Tabs for Wheelchairs’ is a province-wide program of 160 schools and 186 companies & organizations collecting metal tabs for recycling and then using the funds to purchase wheelchairs.

The next Manitoba ‘Tabs for Wheelchairs’ recipient is a student at Carman Elementary School in Carman, MB living with Leigh’s syndrome, which is a rare inherited neurometabolic disorder characterized by degeneration of the central nervous system.

He is a very positive and upbeat young man who loves school and socializing.  He especially loves gym and loves to watch his friends play hockey.

He is looking forward to receiving his specialized wheelchair May 2011.

Please help us to support this outstanding program by donating any metal tabs (pop cans, fruit cups, pet food, etc) to Carman Elementary School.  We need lots… about 1450 tabs in a pound at $0.50-$0.70 per pound!
